Accidents, Incidents and Safety

  1. If you have an accident, experience an issue which threatens your safety, or receive a citation, take the appropriate steps to protect yourself. If necessary, call the authorities by dialing 911, and then end the Ride on the app.
  2. In the event of an accident, provide your personal insurance information as well as carGO's to the officer filling out the report. After the report is complete you will need to fill out a carGO Accident Report Form, which can be found on the app under Customer Support, Driver Forms. On this form you will provide trip details; your name, rider name, time of accident, what stage of the ride the accident occurred, and you will have the option to write a description and provide pictures of the accident.

We will contact you as soon as we receive your report.

  3. Make sure you file a claim with your personal auto insurance provider, and provide proof of personal insurance to the relevant parties at the scene of an accident.
  4. Keep in mind, we will not be able to assist with citations incurred outside the carGO platform, or due to violating standard traffic laws.
carGO is cashless
  1. If a rider graciously offers a cash tip, kindly decline and let them know they can add a tip through the app, and that 100% of the tips go to drivers.
  2. If a rider causes damage to your vehicle, do not ask for or accept cash. Instead, follow the instructions for reporting damage using the Incident Report Form and carGO will take care of charging the rider and getting you compensated.
Drive only your approved car

You are approved to give carGO rides online in the vehicle in your profile. If you are switching vehicles, please submit the Driver Information Update Form and all required documents.

Don't invite friends or family to ride along

carGO riders don’t expect anyone in your car but you - an awesome, screened, vetted, and trained carGO driver. Please don’t allow anyone else in your vehicle besides your rider.

Use a phone mount

We strongly encourage you to use a phone mount while you are active in the app and “On Duty.” They are inexpensive and available at stores like Best Buy or online from

Display your carGO decals

Two yellow carGO decals are provided in your Welcome Kit at carGO Driver Days and should be displayed in your windshield and back window. It’s also great to use a carGO PowerDecal at night to make sure riders easily see you. Don’t have one? Send us a message and we will hook you up.

Obey all traffic laws

carGO drivers should take precautions to always focus on driving, keep your eyes on the road and always be fully aware of your surroundings. Signal when changing lanes, yield to oncoming traffic, follow speed limits, and don't make illegal turns. Always come to a complete stop at stop signs, follow traffic signals, be courteous to other drivers on the road, and watch out for and yield to pedestrians and cyclists. Basically, drive like you're driving your own mother!

Reimbursement can be requested, if a rider damages or creates a mess in your vehicle in a manner that requires significant cleaning or repair, and that prevents you from continuing to accept ride requests.

Please complete the Incident Report Form and include photos of the mess or damage within 48 hours of the ride ending, and we will assess a fee, if appropriate.

We want you to be as rested as possible when providing ridesharing services to carGO riders.

To keep the carGO community safe, for every 12 hours you should take a 6 hour break.

Note: Only log in to the driver app and tap “On Duty” when you are accepting rides.
