Application and Approval

Drivers using the carGO platform must pass a screening process that includes a background check. Screening is performed by a third-party public record search engine that searches through hundreds of millions of National, State, and Local criminal records to provide the most complete information possible.

To get started, download the carGO Driver app. Your consent is required before we initiate a background check. You'll need to provide your full name, address, date of birth, social security number, Missouri driver’s license number, and basic contact information.

Screening is free of charge. Please note there is no credit check included. After you receive email notification that your screening has started, please allow 5-7 business days for it to be completed.

After you receive email notification that you have passed background screening, you will be asked to upload images (e.g., photos taken from your phone or scanned images) of:

  1. your valid Missouri driver’s license;
  2. your Missouri vehicle registration;
  3. and proof of insurance listing the carGO driver.

When you upload an image, make sure the document image is clear. All text must be legible. Please check that all 4 corners of the document are visible.

carGO drivers are required to complete an exclusive Driver Days Orientation and Training program before completing the screening process and being approved to give rides. The interactive in-person program includes:

  1. a personal interview;
  2. vehicle condition inspection;
  3. basic ridesharing training;
  4. driver safety and security training by local off-duty police officers;
  5. 5-Star customer service training;
  6. carGO driver app setup and training;
  7. and carGO driver sharing and mentoring.

Drivers successfully completing the background screening process and Driver Days Training will be approved immediately by a carGO Operations Manager.
